As soon as I'd post some glyphs, I'd get undercut immediately and then again it's time to cancel auctions, run to mail box collect my glyphs reposting them. Suddenly, the protected markets of the gold makers became far less exclusive and for those players whom 20g profit per glyph is an acceptable standard, the days of shoring up easy profits in inscription are starting to wind down.

More to the point though, it's showing practically that making serious gold in the game is in itself a 'gated' process, either by the methods used OR by INFORMATION on how to do it.

There really are no real barriers (gates) to entry on most gold making ventures in wow besides time. Rarely luck will play a part, it'll continually come down to information and protecting your market share.

Ironically, gold blogs are becoming their own worst enemy in protecting patches for profit!Austackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17493769923008730138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797534849031995653.post-90379308445222297302012-08-28T17:42:00.951+01:002012-08-28T17:42:00.951+01:00@deja and @Scugger: part of me agrees with you on ...@deja and @Scugger: part of me agrees with you on all that. Players who do not make it their full time job have to pay "inflated prices" for items that cost a fraction of the price. That drains their resources or require them to spend time trying to come up with gold for items they cannot do without to quest or raid. I'm glad inscription eliminates having to try and find Books of Glyph Mastery to level. Monopolists just bought them to keep them out of anyone who wanted to learn that profession.
I suggest that Blizzard institute a Gold Cap by Realm. A player would no longer have the ability to have more than 500,000 gold across all of their toons. Perhaps this would limit the number of Bankers who live in Auction Houses and undercut legitimate players trying to make a few gold to fund their repairsScuggerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00331341805101112855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797534849031995653.post-64671474270980287092012-08-27T20:07:49.210+01:002012-08-27T20:07:49.210+01:00I suspect some relatively simple and much used ite...I suspect some relatively simple and much used items like leg armors and belt buckles will end up costing thousands due to short supply and market manipulation. There are other blogs which have looked at this in more detail.

I would especially not be short of ethereal ink - these herbs are always in short supply.

once i have 8 of all glyphs i always stock pile the inks in preference. gives me more flexibility.Crodahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16620994327943613623noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7797534849031995653.post-6340489560537856242012-08-13T13:20:36.549+01:002012-08-13T13:20:36.549+01:00the Cataclysm pre-patch was the right time in 2010...the Cataclysm pre-patch was the right time in 2010.
